The Law Offices of Raul B. Garcia is a law practice that focuses on providing services to the small enterprise on litigated matters. The focus is on the small enterprise that cannot or does not want to pay large firm rates. While some matters require a partner or two, a senior attorney, an associate and a paralegal, some matters do not require that level of billing. That is the niche Garcia seeks and serves.
Raul Garcia litigates non-compete agreements, partnership or entity dissolution, trade secret litigation, commercial foreclosure, commercial landlord-tenant litigation, lender repurchase litigation, loan fraud, quiet title actions, easement and boundary litigation and commercial disputes.
In addition to litigation, Mr. Garcia is general counsel to a highly energetic and growing entity in Southern California that has made Inc. Magazine's list of 500 fastest growing companies in the nation for several years in a row.
The firm represents clients primarily in the Inland Empire, but also in San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, and Ventura counties.
Raul Garcia graduated from Loma Linda University, La Sierra College of Arts and Sciences in 1984, with a BA in Religion and as a recipient of multiple Dean's List awards.
In 1987, he obtained his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Houston's Law Center and was inducted to the Honorary Legal Fraternity of Phi Kappa Phi. That same year, he was admitted to practice law in the State of California, and the following year was admitted to practice in the United States District Courts, for the Central and Southern Districts of California.
While an associate attorney at the Los Angeles based law firm of Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith, LLP, Raul landed his first account representing an Inland Empire based mortgage warehouse lender on a multimillion dollar RICO claim. He then developed expertise in loan repurchase and loan fraud litigation. During the course of making a claim on behalf of his lender client against a Colorado based title company, and while the claim was pending, he was asked by that title company to defend it in other title claims. After the proper conflict waivers were secured, Raul began handling the gamut of title claims including easement litigation, mechanic lien claims, mortgage fraud, borrower fraud, falsified deeds, and alleged lender fraud in origination of loans.
Three years and one month after joining Lewis, Raul became a partner with the firm but could not resist the invitation to join the then national law firm of Arter & Haden LLP, working out of its Irvine office. There, Raul only represented lenders and loan servicers on commercial foreclosures, including receivership work, deficiency litigation, mortgage litigation and real estate litigation.
Because of the volume of work received from the Colorado title company, Raul developed an expertise and now primarily handles business and real estate litigation. Those cases include commercial foreclosures, title insurance litigation, loan repurchase litigation, commercial landlord and tenant litigation, real estate fraud and breach of contract litigation. Over the years, Raul has represented national and regional banks in all aspects of lender litigation excepting bankruptcy.
